This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions within the Fitness Industry. You may have heard this answer before, but in all honesty, it is the truth. The type of workout that is most effective, is going to be the one that you can sustain. In order for something to be sustainable, there has to be some type of enjoyment involved in the process. Often times I will tell my clients that the "enjoyment factor" may not come until the end of the workout, but there still has got to be some time of enjoyment in the process, otherwise it is going to be difficult to maintain.
With the joy of movement, usually comes some type of reward. So by being consistent with your movement practice, over time, you shall find reward in your efforts. That may be noticing that you have a clearer mind, maybe you have become more flexible, maybe you have gotten physically stronger....but there will always be some type of reward when you remain consistent in your practice.
So as far as movement goes, you may be drawn to pool exercises, or more dance type of movement, or maybe you just really love lifting weights. Maybe you truly enjoy a nice mix and balance of several movement modalities. Whatever it may be, the workout that is going to get YOU the best results is the one that you keep coming back to ; the one that you enjoy, that you can sustain, and that fulfills YOU.
